If you’re anything like me, you’re probably already thinking ahead to summer plans. In less than 2 months warmer weather will be a reality and due to this quaratine thing, that is the only thing making me feel better. I love anything that involves a beach somewhere far away and all of the outfits I’ll be adding to my suitcase.
From the print that dominates the s/s runway shows to the bikini tops that you can transition to an après-beach look, there is a wide range of new silhouettes and colors including modest swimsuits with a twist.
To discover the biggest swim trends that fashion insiders will wear in the year ahead don’t miss my list:
Each season, we’re introduced to new and vibrant colors that the fashion set flock to. Looking forward in the year, one of the biggest color trends will be tangerine, as seen at the most famous runaways . While this bold shade will be a huge trend for spring, it will also translate to swimsuits. Expect bright orange to be the dominant hue to appear in every insider’s vacation wardrobe.
One of the biggest trends we’ll see in swimwear for 2020 are covered-up pieces.
Swimsuits are taking on new shapes with long-sleeve tops, short-sleeve one-pieces, booty shorts and ultra-high-rise bottoms.
If you’re not pretty much into this trend, just keep in mind that the more modest silhouettes still show some skin, whether it’s with a super-cropped top or a plunging neckline.
Not convinced yet? Well, what about this? Best thing about them, is that these tops are perfect to transition to a fabulous après-beach look or as a crop top to pull off a casual style with a pair of jeans and sneakers. How cool is that?
Another trend borrowed straight from the runaways are tropical prints. Strong jungle prints with blooms and vivid colors, which are expected to be huge in the world of swimwear this year.
We’re seeing wrap-around tops in cool swimwear collections across the board. With long straps that wrap around the waist and breast, they feel like a particularly fresh take on the bikini.
My favorite element of this trend is the versatility of the tops. Not only are they great for the beach, but if you add a skirt or a pair of pants, they can easily transition to a full look.
Swimwear in 2020 is designed to take you beyond the beach. With ornate embellishments, velvet or mesh finishes and luxe waist-defining belts built right in, swimsuits are intended for all-day wear.
To nail this aprés-beach attire, add oversized retro sunglasses and plenty of layered jewelry. This maximalist style will get all the attention for sure!
Each season, swimsuits seem to be cut higher and higher with throwback ’80s-inspired silhouettes. And this season one-pieces are cut shockingly high up past the navel for an extreme leg-lengthening effect.
If you’re looking for a one-piece that’s anything but boring, you’ll want to pack one of this for your next vacation.
Perhaps the prettiest and my favourite swimwear trend of 2020: bikinis and one-pieces will incorporate romantic ruching with shiny, satin-like finishes.
I’m predicting these swimsuits will be everywhere this summer, especially the ones that involve subtle hues like this beautiful mauve or any other pastels.
Hope I inspired you and wish you a super juicy week ahead!
